Inspecting Pages
When the Preview tab of a page is displayed, you can use the following methods to inspect a page before approving or rejecting it:
If a Soft Proof file is available, you can display the proof in Delano.
If a StreamProof file is available, you can display the proof in Delano.
If remarks have been added to the page, you can read the text.


To display the Soft Proof of a page
If a Soft Proof icon is displayed at the top of the tab, you can view the Soft Proof of the page before approving or rejecting it.
Click the Soft Proof icon softproofto open the proof.
The Approval Resource Soft Proof tab of the page is displayed. It may take some time before the page image appears.

If the corresponding information is available, a StreamProof and/or Remark icon is displayed at the top of the tab. The tab also contains the page navigation. (See previous steps for a description of these items). The Approve and Reject action buttons on the left are used to approve or reject the page (see right).

To display the StreamProof of a page
StreamProof technology allows you to view proof pages in great detail in Delano. If a StreamProof icon is displayed on the tab, you can review pages using this technology.
Click the StreamProof icon streamto open the proof.

NOTE: Delano relies on an external application to display Soft Proofs. If missing when the Soft Proof tab is accessed, you can install this application by clicking the link on the tab. During the installation, some questions may be presented to you on your screen. You have to confirm all of these screens. When the installation is successfully completed, the Soft Proof page appears. If you have difficulties with the installation, please contact <Name> at <Number/email>.

The Approval Resource StreamProof tab of the page is displayed. It may take some time before the page image appears. To zoom in, click the Zoom tool and drag a rectangle on the image to view the enclosed region in more detail. Repeat this action to zoom in more.

If the corresponding information is available, a Soft Proof and/or Remark icon is displayed at the top of the tab. The tab also contains the page navigation. (See previous steps for a description of these items). The Approve and Reject action buttons are used to approve or reject the page (see below).

TIP: You can click the Help buttonhelp at the top to display a description of the tab in a separate window, including references to information describing StreamProof functionality in more detail.To read page remarks
If a remark was added to a page, you can read it before approving or rejecting the page. A Remark icon is displayed on the tab if a remark was added to the page.

The Remarks tab of the page Approval Resource is displayed, including a list of Remarks for the page.

If the Remark text is too long to fit in the list, click the text link to display the Remark’s Specification tab, including all the text.
Approving or Rejecting Pages
If the processing result of a page is satisfactory, you can approve it. If you consider the result not acceptable, you can reject the page.
You can approve or reject a page when its Soft Proof tab or StreamProof tab is displayed. If no page proofs are generated, you can approve or reject a selected page from its Preview tab.

To approve a page
Click APPROVE approveon the action bar.
The page is now approved and the tab is updated. An “Approved” icon is displayed at the top.

TIP:You can use the orange arrows in the page navigation to quickly display the previous/next page to approve.

To reject a page
1 Click REJECTreject on the action bar.

A confirmation screen appears.

2 (Optional) Enter information on the confirmation screen:
..Type a reason for rejecting the page in the Reason field.
..Select “Resubmit this resource” if you want to upload a new page to replace the rejected page.
Click the OK button to confirm.

The page is now rejected and the proof tab is updated.

If “Resubmit this resource” was not selected, a “Rejected” icon is displayed at the top of the tab. The existing proof is still valid and displayed.

If “Resubmit this resource” was selected, the existing proof, which is no longer valid, was removed from Delano. The proof tab is empty.

TIP: You can use the orange page navigation arrows to quickly display the previous/next page to approve.

To add a Remark to a page
If the Preview tab, Soft Proof tab, or StreamProof tab of a page is displayed, you can add a remark to the page, and you can attach a file to the remark.
1 Click ADD REMARK remarkon the action bar.
The Remark Specification screen is displayed.

2 Specify the Remark:
.. Enter the text in the Text field (mandatory).
.. If you want to attach a file to the Remark, click the Browse button and select the file (optional).
Click the OK button to confirm.

The Remark and the attached file (if appropriate) are saved. The previous tab is updated. A Remark icon is displayed at the top of the tab.

Performing actions on multiple pages
You can also approve or reject pages when the Page Approval tab is displayed, and add Remarks to the pages on this tab. This procedure allows you to perform these actions on multiple pages at the same time.
The thumbnails on the Page Approval tab do not reveal much detail of the pages. Make sure to thoroughly inspect the pages before approving or rejecting them as a whole.
1 Select the page(s).
..Click the Select All buttonselect at the top of the tab to select all pages.
..Click the Clear All button clearat the top of the tab to unselect all pages.
..Click the check box below the page to select an individual page.
2 Click the appropriate button on the action bar:
..Click APPROVE approveto approve all selected pages.
..Click REJECT rejectto reject all selected pages.
..Click ADD REMARK remarkto add a Remark to all selected pages.

The Page Approval tab is updated. Approval and/or Remark icons are displayed above the concerning pages.

NOTE: The Approved, Rejected and Remark icons will also be displayed if you performed the corresponding actions from the Preview tab, the StreamProof tab, or the Soft Proof tab, as described above.


If you have finished approving pages for this Part, you can click the Products menu on the menu bar to return to the My Products Overview tab on which you can view the status of the Products and Parts assigned to you. To approve more pages, repeat the procedures as described in the “Approving/Rejecting Pages” section of this documentation.
Ending the Approval Session
If all available pages have been approved, you can log off and start a new Delano session later to approve more pages. To safely end your work session, you have to log off Delano.
..Click the LOG OFFlog off button on the menu bar.
Delano ends your work session, the logon screen is displayed.

NOTE: A Delano session times out if there is no activity. A time out will re-direct you to the logon screen. After you have again logged on, you can pick up your session where you left it.

Reading Your Messages
Delano sends a message to the concerned users every time an intervention is required. A message includes a topic link that directs you to the tab in Delano where you can view the concerned information and/or take the required action.
To read a message or to access information related to the message, you have to display a list of messages and open the Detail tab of the message. You can display a list of new messages addressed to you from any Delano tab.
1 Click the message icon messageat the top of the Delano window next to your name.

NOTE: The menu bar may not be visible on your screen because it is collapsed. Click the Open button openat the top-right of the window to restore the menu bar.

The Messages Overview tab is displayed, containing a list of new messages addressed to you.

NOTE: You can also display a list of messages by selecting an option in the Messages menu. Select New in the Messages menu to display a list of new (unread) messages addressed to you. Select Overview in the Messages menu to display a list of all your messages.

2 Click the subject of the message in the list.

The Message’s Detail tab opens, including the message text.To read more messages, you can use the message navigation at the top of the tab to quickly display other messages. Use the grey arrows to display previous or next messages. Click an orange arrow to display the next/previous new message. You can also select a subject in the list to display the associated message.

NOTE: If you click a message subject in the list of new messages, this message will be removed from your new messages list. It will, however, still be available from the list of all your messages. To display this list, select Overview in the Messages menu.

3 Click a link in the message text to display the corresponding tab.
..Topic link: click this link to open the tab containing the information that is the topic of this message.
..Context link(s): click a link in the context path to display information related to the topic.
The tab containing the selected information is displayed.
Repeat the previous steps if you want to read more messages, or log off Delano to end your work session.
4 Click the LOG OFF log offbutton on the menu bar.
Delano ends your work session, the logon screen is displayed.

Customizing your User Profile
The following procedures describe how you can edit your User Profile to change your personal settings for Delano.
Displaying your User Profile
To customize your profile, you have to display your User Profile tab. You can access this tab at any time, regardless of the tab that is displayed.
Click your Name in the Profiles menu on the menu bar.

NOTE: The menu bar may not be visible on your screen because it is collapsed. Click the Open button openat the top-right of the window to restore the menu bar.

Your User Profile tab is displayed. This tab contains information describing you as a Delano user.

Changing your Password
If your initial password is not easy for you to remember, you can change it. Or, you may have to change your password for security reasons. You can only change your password when your User Profile tab is displayed.
1 Click CHANGE PASSWORD on the action bar.
The “Change Password” screen is displayed.

2 Specify the new password on this screen. All fields are mandatory.
Current password: enter the password you used last to log on to Delano.
New password: enter a new password.
Confirm new password: enter the new password again.
Click the OK button. Help button

Change Password
Your new password is now saved. Your User Profile tab is displayed. You will have to use your new password the next time you log on to Delano.
Editing your User Information
You can complete or change information describing you as a Delano user by editing your User Profile tab. You can only edit this information when your User Profile tab is displayed.
Even though editing your User Profile tab permits many changes, it is not always advisable to do so. For example, editing the Preferences fields has an influence on the appearance of information on the screen.
1 Click EDIT editon the action bar to switch to edit mode.


2 Change the information.
3 When you have finished, click SAVE saveon the action bar.
The changes are now saved and your updated User Profile tab appears.

TIP: You can click the Help button helpat the top of a tab to display a description of the tab in a separate window.

Setting your Initial Screen
The initial screen is the screen that is displayed when you close the Getting Started screen after you have logged on to Delano. If you configured Delano not to display the Getting Started screen anymore, the initial screen appears directly after you have logged on.
Newly-created users have a default initial screen. You can select a different screen as your personal initial screen. You can set your initial screen when your User Profile tab is displayed.
1 Click EDIT editon the action bar.

Your initial screen is now saved. Changes will apply the next time you log on.

TIP: You can display your initial screen at any time by clicking the Home button on the menu bar.
